The Expo Axis is the largest and most significant landmark on the 2010 Shanghai Expo site. The six steel and glass funnels are 45 m high. Their freeform double-curved framework, constitute the central entrance area and provides 334,000 sqm space for the Expo’s numerous facilities. Stretching across the entire site to the Huangpu River, the 1km long and 100m wide axis, guides visitors to the various national and theme-based pavilions. After the event, Expo Axis remains as a permanent and iconic structure for the district development.
